Golf Course Information

The Els Club at Copperleaf is the second ‘Signature’ Ernie Els designed golf course in South Africa. This beautiful course has been designed to the highest possible specifications and USGA Specifications. The Els Club at Copperleaf is based just 40 minutes outside of Sandton or just 15 minutes outside of Centurion in Mnandi, Gauteng. Copperleaf is best defined as ‘modern classic’ – the layout tests every aspect of the game and provides even the longest hitters with a challenge. The course is one of the finest examples of the ‘Highveld grassland’ genre, and players experience a sense of openness and freedom with the Magaliesberg backdrop adding to the country atmosphere.

Copperleaf Golf Club, or more accurately The Els Club at Cop...perleaf is a modern gem of a golf course. Ernie Els pulled out all the stops to carve out something special from what originally was relatively flat boring land. Els made the most of the gently sloping land limited amount of natural water on the property, making sure that holes three, four, five and six all feature the natural water that there is prominently in one way or another. The seventh hole also crosses the water but it shouldn’t be in play unless you top your tee shot.Copperleaf is a big golf course in every sense of the word, big fairways, big greens, big bunkers and in some places big distances from tee to green, you really should use every golf club in your bag to navigate it.Only a short drive from Centurion and about 40 minutes from Johannesburg’s northern suburbs it’s well worth the trip to this golf club.
