Golf Course Information

Dainfern opened in 1991 on the site of the old Fourways golf course, Gary Player and Phil Jacobs took the Fourways layout and built the Dainfern golf course as we know it today. The course tests the skills of proficient golfers, with play crossing the Jukskei River six times. The course has some of the most scenics yet challenging holes in the country and is one of South Africa’s most exciting golf venues. It was the second golf estate to be launched in South Africa and the first in Gauteng. The golfing challenge on the Par 72 course (Rating 71) was developed around the meandering Jukskei River with its undulating terrain and is a truly spectacular layout. The river is in play on 5 holes with the rolling terrain providing a challenge to both amateurs and professionals and affords breath-taking views of the surrounding landscape. Dams, water features, natural rocky outcrops, weeping willows as well as abundant birdlife provide a tranquil country ambiance.

Dainfern is one of the many golf estates in and around Johan...nesburg and Pretoria as opposed to traditional golf club. As with most estates the threat of out of bounds is ever present but it doesn’t feel so imposing as to scare you out of your original club selection. The landing areas are for the most part generous and the design forgiving unless you hit a noticeably wayward shot. The other major feature of the Dainfern Golf Course is the Jukskei River which winds its way through the estate and will frequently make you think about the golf club you have in your hand and whether it’s the right choice. In summer this golf club is a real pleasure with well-manicured playing areas and a vigorously flowing Jukskei River it has a pleasant country feel in spite of being well built up with properties, so grab your golf clubs and book a game at Dainfern.
